STATEMENT:

"The Hunt" is a self directed project exploring the genre of medieval hunting tapestries through an absurdist modern day lens. The pieces follow wealthy New York businesspeople and socialites as they host lavish hunts and flaunt their wealth. There are four paintings in the collection, "Edna's Revenge,” a genetically bred giant cat hunted atop a landlord's overpriced Cat Tree Apartments; "Aspic No. 1,” a more intimate aspic hunt interrupted by cockroaches; "Golden Horned Persian Cat In Waiting,” a riff on the Met Cloisters unicorn hunting tapestry; and “Aspic Hunt,” an elaborate rooftop fishing excursion in which the fish are suspended in giant jellos.
